Résumé
The human origin of the current climate change is undebatable, and its effects are clear across the world. In this context, there is a climate emergency with a number of imperatives: understanding the current dynamic, how it may develop, with all the consequences and risks for humans, societies, and ecosystems; collectively looking for and finding solutions to mitigate this climate change and, in parallel, adapting to it, as the two are inseparable.
The goal of this Collection is to give up-to-date scientific knowledge on all these aspects. To do this, we have gathered 26 lecturers and scientists from different disciplines and institutions. Each one will speak about their day-to-day work. Most of these speakers are authors of the IPCC reports, or contribute to them at a local level.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the anthropogenic origin of climate change.
- Understand the impact of climate change on all the components of the terrestrial system, in all territories
- Identify the main risks linked to climate change for humans and societies
- Discover solutions to mitigate climate change or adapt to it
- Become aware of the urgency of mobilisation and action
- Be able to explain the problem of climate change to other people.
